Good(ish) optically (with reservations) but with slightly “sticky” zoom action – annoying in such an expensive lens I had reservations about this lens having read many mixed opinions and reviews both here and elsewhere and chose to buy from Amazon mainly because of the straightforward return procedures should the worst come to the worst. As it turned out I’m actually pretty happy with it, although it does have its little annoyances that might be considered trivial with a cheap lens – but this is anything but cheap. All the essentials are good, if not excellent: optically it produces really nice…

The best lens by far is the sony 50mm but obviously … I own quite a few lenses for the a6000. I have the kit, 1.8 50mm sony, 30mm sigma, 19 sigma, 55-210mm sony and i tried the 18-200 but sent it back. The best lens by far is the sony 50mm but obviously has limitations given it is a prime. Lens de-centred and unusable I purchased this lens mid-November 2017 for my A6500 with high expectations given its Zeiss label. After a few images tests I was bitterly disappointed to discover the lens sharpness was totally de-centered and unusable. Sony quality control is severely lacking here! Fortunately, Amazon gave me a full refund and I purchased the £300 cheaper Sony 18-105 OS G F4.0 which is perfectly manufactured and I’m really enjoy the results for stills and video.
